Icloud back up of two different Iphones

what is the best way to back up two different iPhone on iCloud and keep the phone data separate.

Would that entail another iCloud account?

You can back up more than one phone to the same iCloud storage. Just make sure that the phones have different names, so you know which backup is which if you need to restore one. You may need to add iCloud storage, but it's really cheap; 50 GB is 99¢ a month.
