Speaker Malfunction - No Output device found

Hi, I’m trying to use my MacBook Pro and the speakers are not working, with the volume bar greyed out. I went on System Preferences --> Sound --> Output Tab and it says that there's no Output device found. Do you know what the issue may be?

Ps: the software is up to date and there's no external devices plugged in.

Try each of the following:

  1. Reboot the computer.
  2. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
  3. Boot into Safe Mode then reboot normally (this takes more time than usual.)
