I routinely shared Pages documents by email. Now email is no longer an option. Only options are AirDrop, Notes, and Messages, none of which I'm familiar with. Having to first create a new email, and then attach a document, just like in the 1990s, wouldn't be the end of the world. But I wonder why this function has been eliminated. Am I missing something?

In Apple Mail Preferences : General panel, Is the Default email reader set to Apple Mail, or have you selected an optional email reader? If not Apple Mail, this may be the reason for exclusion on that Pages Share sub-menu because Pages only uses Apple Mail.
In System Preferences : Extensions : Share Menu, is Apple Mail selected, or if for some reason it is deselected, can you select it?

If you haven't already, you can drag and drop the Send a Copy tool to the Pages toolbar from the View menu : Customize Toolbar… panel. This has the Share menu items on it and avoids reaching for the Share menubar item.
Indeed I do. A key point I had forgotten is that this is a new-to-me computer. I gave it all the preferences from the previous computer and this is the first instance where a preference didn't copy over.
I can't find the default mail reader option you refer to. In the extensions share menu, Mail is selected is but grayed out, and cannot be deselected.

Do you now have Mail on your Share menu options in Pages Share menu and Send a Copy tool?
