Easy way to get photos off of icloud directly to iphone

Why isn't there a simple way to just turn off icloud and have the photos automatically be transferred to the phone. It seems like simple coding to just have an option to turn off iCloud on your iphone and have it download your photos and videos. You purposely make it so complicated for a simple option, and I don't understand way. It's 2019, memory is cheap I think 128 GB or 256 GB could be the standard by now. Just make it a simple transfer option. "Would you like to turn of icloud for photos" - yes, "would you like to download all your photos" - yes.

It really is not that difficult. First off, when using iCloud photos, your photos are on both your device AND in iCloud - iCloud does not offer separate or independent storage. It keeps copies of your photos (and files, contacts, notes, etc) to sync them to your devices.

To stop using iCloud photo, simply follow the instructions in the guides online at Apple.com - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204570

"How do I turn off iCloud Photos on only one device?

You can turn off iCloud Photos on a single device when you follow these steps:

  • On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos, then turn off iCloud Photos.*
  • On your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud. Next to Photos, click Options, then deselect iCloud Photos.*
  • On your Apple TV 4K or Apple TV HD, go to Settings > Accounts
  • > iCloud. Under Photos, press Select to turn off iCloud Photos.*

If you have Optimize Storage turned on, you might not have all of

your original photos and videos on your device. To download the original

photos and videos on your iOS device, go to Settings > [your name]

> iCloud > Photos and select Download and Keep Originals. On your

Mac, open Photos, choose Photos > Preferences, then select Download

Originals to this Mac. Then you can turn off iCloud Photos. You can also

select the photos and videos that you want to download from iCloud.com.

Before you turn off iCloud Photos, you might want to make a copy of your photos and videos."
