How can I prevent movie playing in Finder?
When a movie file is selected, pressing the space bar plays the movie. I want to prevent that.

I'm not referring to Quick Look. I'm referring to selecting a movie file icon on the Desktop or in any Finder window (icons, list, column, or Quick Look) and pressing the space bar. A window appears in the middle of the screen, and the movie plays immediately. It will play even while a movie plays in Quick Look. I don't want movies to play just because I accidentally press the space bar.
It looks nothing like a Quick Look movie that plays within the top half of the Quick Look Finder window. That movie is unframed and remains the size of the "thumbnail." The press space bar movie looks like a QuickTime movie that lacks controls. It plays at full size, is fully framed, and can be moved. On the right-hand side of the movie window title bar is a button that says "Open with <your default movie player>".
Regardless of how the movie is classified, I want to know how to avoid showing it.
I have intermittent arm and hand tremors. The space bar is the easiest key to hit accidentally. Having an info box or a document appear isn't a big deal. Having a movie appear and play instantly can be a big deal if the beginning is loud.
I now modify my request and ask how to prevent movie pop ups OR how to prevent automatic playing.
You cannot override the normal behavior of Quick Look to play the selected video icon, when using the spacebar on it, or its option or shift key modifiers with it.
A Quick Look window with a playing video or audio, is exactly what happens when you select a movie/audio in Finder (regardless of the view) and press the spacebar.
Whether you believe it or not, that is quick look.
Don't press the spacebar when you have it selected.
