factory reset to brand new

I found this old phone of mine and cannot remember or change the icloud password. I just want to reset it so I can log in with my new codes.

You can reset it using iTunes following the steps from this article:

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple Support

However, if "Find My iPhone" was enabled on that phone, it would be Activation Locked to that Apple ID.

You have to recover access to it, or contact Apple if you have a box and a proof of purchase.
