iTunes Library keeps turning off

the iTunes library keeps shutting itself off when I tick the box and will not stay on. I have a Mac mini MacOSMojave, v. 10.14.5. can anyone help /resolve this issue as its extremely frustrating

Do you mean the iCloud Music Library option? Try holding down option+cmd as you launch iTunes to open it in iTunes safe mode. If that doesn't help with your preference issue reboot the Mac into safe mode and try again then.
