Updating Numbers

I have Numbers 3.6.2 and it suddenly says I have to update to a newer version.

1) Can I go straight to 6.2?

2) When I hit update 4+ at the Numbers page at the App Store, it seems to endlessly download, but nothing appears.

Any help appreciated...

iMac 21.5", OS X 10.11

You need a recent version of MacOS. If you are using an old version of the OS you won't be able to update Numbers at the Mac App Store.
