Help. My iCloud contacts aren't showing up and my MAC contacts have names only. Soooo, when I try to email, that crashes too.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
safe mode solved the problem. do i have to sign in that way each time now? or, does it mean i have a bug in my system would you know?
OK good, now do a regular boot & see if the problem is gone or naxk.
