iPhone text notifications

All of a sudden I am not receiving sound alerts when I receive a text

Check sSettings>Sounds>Text Tone to be sure that a sound is selected. If you do have a sound selected, try closing messages and restart your phone.

Close the settings app by double clicking the home button to get to the recent apps. Swipe to find the messages app and swipe up on the app preview to force close it. Then restart your phone and see if the sounds come back.

If that doesn’t work force restart your phone and see if that fixes it. Press and hold both the Side (or Top) button and the Volume Down button for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
