Shattered phone

I was involved in a bad car accident yesterday and my 4 month old iPhone X is basically completely shattered. I can hear my notifications come in but the screen is shattered and black. The front and back of it, shards of glass are falling off. Although I didn't purchase AppleCare, I am covered under the 1-year warranty. I am being completely candid because I need all the help I can get. Do you think there would be any way to replace my device? Not sure if repairing the phone at this point would help.

I hate to be the bearing of bad tidings, but the Apple One (1) Year Limited Warranty, does not cover accidental damage. It's limited to "defects in materials and workmanship". An out-of-warranty replacement is $399 for an XR, unless your auto insurance will cover the costs. In the body of your post, it says an iPhone X, in which case the cost would be $549.
