I am trying to sign out of iCloud on my iMac 21.5 (2016) and when I sign out and put my password it it is just sticking to ‘go to one of your other devices signed into iCloud to approve this mac’ but I can’t find anything and nothing happens, then when I click ‘can’t find device’ it just bring that rainbow spinning wheel up and nothing at all happens it just freezing on that part. I have been trying most of the evening.

See if you can sign out in the Safe Mode.
