How to delete photos on iPhone but keep them on iCloud?

Dear all,

I want to delete my photos on my iPhone to free up some space but I still want to keep the photos. How can I delete the photos plus keeping them on iCloud? Normally when I delete photos from iPhone, they are deleted on iCloud too!

Thanks,

Eric

To do what you want, you would need to go to Settings/Your Name/iCloud and turn Photos syncing off and leave it off. If you turn it back on, the Photos would sync back to the phone. If you want to do this because you need space on the phone, go Settings/Your Name/iCloud/Photos and select Optimize iPhone/iPad Storage. That will reduce the space required by about 90% when fully effective.
