After a long history of using iPhoto and resisting using Photos, I've decided to give in and transfer to the latter. How do I import my iPhoto library into Photos (version 4.0)? Using OSX 10.14.5 on an iBook Pro.

Open Photos with the Option key held down, and select your iPhoto library. It will create a new Photos library based on your iPhoto library but leave the iPhoto library untouched.
