Account Suspended

I received an email from apple support saying that my account has been suspended for security reasons. I can update it by clicking on its link. How do I know that it’s real?

It's not, accounts don't get 'suspended', and Apple only sends emails about accounts being locked or disabled if you had contacted them and it's a reply - you could forward it to Apple : reportphishing@apple.com , and then delete it.
