I bought a new iPhone 6s and as I’m setting it up the iOS 12.4 update is taking hours to update and currently says about 18 hours remaining is there anyway I can fix this and make it update quicker as I think this is too long too wait thank you

Please try after some time.
Do not go by initial time estimated, it depends on the internet speed at that point of time. Wait for a while and check it will be lot more faster if the internet speed in your location is good.
Try again later or change Wi-Fi networks. If it doesn't help, try to update with iTunes on PC / Mac.
