Library versus Albums

Hello there.

I am in the process of cleaning up my photo library on my MacBook Pro

I am creating albums and folders for these and dragging the selected photos into the relevant album.

However the selected photos are still highlighted in the library and do not disappear.

My 2 questions are, can you delete these from the library or will they be gone for ever AND

does this double up and use more space by moving the pics into albums.?Thanks!

The Library is the sum of all photos.

Albums are specific collections within the library.

Putting a photo in an album doesn't duplicate the image, it's just a reference back to the original image.

Likewise, deleting a photo from the library removes it from any album (although deleting it from the album does not delete it from the Library).
