Iphone plugged into IMac

I was trying to attempt a software update for my iPhone 7 when an error came up on the IMac screen and said that the update had failed. It then gave me an option to "restore" our "update'' of which i chose to update. The phone is consequently on a black screen when i try to switch it on, i have even tried the force restart by pressing the power button and the sound buttons however nothing ever seems to happen. Help please!!!
