HELP! WiFi problems iMac

My iMac 27" (mid 2010) running with High Sierra is constantly loosing the WiFi connection. The connection is working a short period after re-boot (and also shows a list of other networks in the area), but then looses the WiFi connection. The machine continues to search for networks. My network is working normally for all other devices (phones, MacBooks, iPad). Is there anyone out there who might have an idea what to do?

Also, even if all your other devices connect okay, please reset the router and ensure it has current firmware.
