Pre-defined Shapes, saved to Keynote / template, not being saved for theme?

Hi, I have created a load of vector shapes and saved them into 'My Shapes'. Each shape has been named and saved also on a Master slide. I was hoping to save the file as a theme and then share with colleagues. When the work colleague opens the theme the 'My Shapes' are there for them to use. Unfortunately nothing is there? Can you not share pre-built saved shapes?

Although I know this may overwrite user keynote predefined shapes, the folder 'com.apple.iWork.Keynote' stored in the containers folder seems to hold the stored user shapes I made. This was replaced in the library

Library > Containers > com.apple.iWork.Keynote

Thanks

Never had a problem saving, opening and using custom shapes.

Check that your colleague is using the latest version of Keynote (9.1)

Try a reset of Keynote:

complete all of the following steps in the order listed:

1.    ensure you have a current backup of all your user files saved to a separate drive

2.    close all applications

3.    uninstall Keynote; for this procedure to work, an application removal tool must be used, App Delete has a free trial and works for this procedure. It can be downloaded from the developer’s website here: App Delete

4.    empty the Trash (Finder > Empty Trash)

5.    restart the Mac (Apple Menu > Restart) Immediately after the Apple bong sound, press the shift key on the keyboard, release shift when the Apple icon appears. Start up will take longer than usual as the Mac is performing a software repair of the start up drive.

6.    After the Mac is fully powered up, restart the Mac normally:  Apple Menu > Restart

7.    reinstall Keynote from the Mac App Store in the Applications folder

8.    Restart the Mac again

mmm, both versions (mine and a colleagues) are using the latest. If I save a shape to 'My Shapes' will this save with the template/theme? At the moment when I goto 'Shape' and look for 'My Shapes' in the left column, it's not there?

have you managed to save a shape and share this in a theme, have you an example?

thanks for your help so far.
