I checked my MacBook Air under Legacy Software, it showed 32-bit. How to update to use 64-bit? Can i download the software itself?

It is something each individual software developer must do to the coding of their software. You then download the updated software, if the developer is still interested in doing the work. Otherwise if you do not upgrade system versions your old software will still work.
