can't update apps

when i try to update my apps it asks me to log into my moms old icloud account even though i have an icloud and set it up with this phone. It keeps denying the old password and won't let me use the new icloud account

That means the app was downloaded using your mom icloud account.

Delete the app and reinstall it with your new id.
