There are two different sorts of gift cards: iTunes/App Store Gift cards and Apple Store Gift cards. The Apple Store cards are for use in buying things such as computers.
If you buy an Apple computer directly from Apple using your Apple Card you get 3% back, so essentially a 3% discount.
If the store you're buying from accepts credit cards, yes.
