can not find airplay or sidecar after update for catalina

I can not find airplay or sidecar after update for catalina is that right?

I have an imac 4k 21.5inch late 2015

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.15

I cannot set up sidecar on my iMac. I cannot set up sidecar with iPad on my iMac (running Catalina). The display preferences show that Airplay is turned off and there is no option to turn it on. Airplay icon is also not showing on the menu bar. Ipad is connected, but not shown on sidecar settings Devices. Firewall is also set up correctly. Any suggestions?

Airplay icon not showing - can't use sidecar I'm trying to use sidecar on my MacBook Air 2018 with iPad Pro 4th generation. I don't see an airplay icon on the menu bar of my MacBook and I've checked displays and the 'show mirroring options in the menu bar when available' is on but I can't turn on airplay display and don't see any icons. I also don't have a sidecar option in my system preferences. I've connected my MacBook with my iPad by cable and made sure they are both connected to the same wifi and iCloud accounts with their bluetooth on but nothing's happening. Is there some other way I can turn on airplay or use sidecar?

Can I specifically command sidecar to use only USB not airplay for connecting to iPad Dear Apple developers, I am trying to use Sidecar with only USB, not airplay (because airplay slowdown my wifi quite a lot). However, I always found frustrated as when I turned on Sidecar even with USB-C connected, the system directly recognize iPad using airplay not USB-C. Sometimes I need to replug the USB-C cable for a couple of times and wait until it finally recognizes USB-C rather than airplay. Also I noticed that there is no sidecar button on the menu bar of my macbook pro (Big Sur). Is there a default for Big Sur? What if I want to have it on the menu bar so that I don't need to repetitively go to system reference to activate sidecar? Many thanks! Minghao

Your iMac does not support Sidecar.

We cant really speculate on what Apple's plans are or what may happen in the future. We're all users here, not Apple employees.
