My Mac email will not open the window pane anymore without double clicking EVERY SINGLE email. I've tried full page mail and lifting the little dot at the bottom center of page but no luck. Please help!

Does the dot move?
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

No, the dot doesn't move. I ran a Safe boot and it didn't seem to do anything different. I tried opening in classic mode and full screen and view in split view but no luck there either. Thanks for trying to help me.
Sadly it looks like that setting is held in the /Users/YourUserName/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
But everything important is held there, before starting over with Mail...
Do you have a Time Machine backup you can restore that file from?
