iPad mounted in Finder - only options are to Set up or Restore from old backup

I am trying to use the new Catalina ability to mount iPad in the Finder to manage files. But when I connect, it only gives me the option to either (1) "Set up as new device" or (2) Restore from this backup" (very old backup).

I don't want either... just to mount the iPad. Will option (1) do what I want? I suspect that option wipes the iPad!

Thanks, -John

Hello,

Tap Set up as new iPad. This will just pair your iPad to your Mac. I agree, this is not worded effectively as it often leads people to assume it will erase their iPad.
