Apple Diagnostics doesn't run on my Macbook Air (Late 2010) DEC500

It says, "Unable to run diagnostics. DEC 500.

Press 'S' to shut down or R to restart your computer

Try running AppleDiagnostics again... etc.


How can I fix this?

Apple Diagnostics require a Mac introduced since June, 2013. Your Mac is too old for this tool.

Well, you’ve told us it’s a late 2010 MacBook Air and that’s all we know about the machine. The article has more clues. Perhaps you didn’t remove all external connections as required. Perhaps there are some unacceptable hardware components in your system.


It sounds like time to visit an Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Center and let them assess the Mac and advise you.
