Playing a AppleTV movie

I rented two movies this week on my 2017 Macbook Pro, one played and the other would not. Got this message "This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection)." I have read everything I can find and tried all the suggestions and still can't play the movie on my macbook pro.

  • Try a cold reboot of the Mac.
  • Disable screen sharing, screen capture, remote desktop.
  • Disconnect any non-essential peripherals.
  • Reset the screen to the native resolution, if you have been tinkering with that.

If all these suggestions make no difference, then contact Apple Support.

If the issue is with one specific title only, then contact the iTunes Store staff.
