If you press the button for Message when you are on the phone, you can send one of the standard replies. They are configured in Settings>Phone>Respond with Text. If you are currently on a call and get a notice that you have another call, you are not seeing the controls on the screen to respond to the second call? You may need to check with your carrier to see if there are any restrictions on your account regarding call waiting.
