I shut down my Macs whenever I am not using them, even for short periods of time.. But it is also acceptable to use sleep mode as well. Do as you like. I do recommend shutting the computer down if you will be leaving it for extended times or if you will be placing it in a restricted airflow situation such as putting it in a backpack.

Thanks for tour response.

But I want to know if I should shut down my mac under normal usage ( no installation or update of any kind).I came across some posts/ videos which say that you should always put your mac on sleep as it runs some operations whole on sleep mode. If mac is shut down, these operations won’t run which is not ideal for a good health of the mac.

Is it true?
