My Face ID stopped working and can’t reset it either. Any tips?

I suddenly have this problem too. I think I will upgrade to iOS 13 before I consider taking the iPhone to though. I have hesitated to upgrade until now because I like the 3D Touch feature. Worth sacrificing this for the Face Recog though.
I believe I have fixed it.
When I found out how to correctly Re-boot my iPhone XS Max (Press/release Volume up, then Press/release Volume button down, then Press/Hold the large side button until the Apple Logo appears) this appears to have fixed the problem.
Went back to re-do my Face and now all is okay again.
I no longer need to sacrifice 3D Touch. Yay!
Remove any case on the phone, remove any screen protectors.
If it still doesn't work, take it in for service.
Try restarting your phone and then try again. If that fails, explain what happens when you try to reset it.
I already tried that. The Face ID just doesn’t recognize and keeps saying lower and higher phone
Ok. I have none of that on my phone. I’ll take it in and see what they tell me. Thanks
