HLS Video from macOS TV app

I recently purchased a movie using the macOS TV app, but instead of downloading as a .m4v file (playable through QuickTime X), it downloaded as a .movpkg file aka HLS video. Most of my movies come through a Movies Anywhere redemption and they are all .m4v files, but when I bought this one, it came as .movpkg. Is there a way to change this?

I just finally figured this out as I was facing the same issue and movies downloaded on our mac computer would not play on our Apple TV.

I went to TV app > Preferences > Playback and made sure both "Download Multichannel Audio" and "Download HDR when available" were unchecked. When I restarted the movie download it came down as an m4v file.
