Repeating parts of words whilst typing

Since updating to macOS Catalina, my MacBook Pro 2019 has been randomly repeating parts of words whilst I have been typing (ie. it just wrote 'whilst I have bhave ee' whilst typing that sentence).


This issue happens both with the inbuilt keyboard and a bluetooth keyboard. I'v've* tried slowing down the key repeat time, but I can't f can't ind* any mention of this issue online. Would appreciate any help, thank you!

First try all three of these things


NVRAM reset

SMC reset

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

Safe Boot

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262#issue

then restart as normal
