Apple TV not connecting with verification code

Hi

I'm trying to log in to my Apple TV (I think it's a 2)

it asks for my Apple ID and password then says that I need to add the verification passcode after my password, but when it asks to save the password for future purposes it just says not recognised and I have to start again, I've been trying this ofr 45 mins now.

my verification code is xxx xxx

do I need to put in the space?

I've tried both ways and neither works

Hello,


A Two-Factor Verification code is meant as a 1 time use only. You do not need to add a space. The code must be typed in after the password. For example, “Password123456”
