MacBook Safari bookmark editing issue

Hi,

After carrying out significant editing of my Safari bookmarks on my late 2013 MacBook Pro (Very latest version of Safari - version 13.0.5) via Bookmarks/Edit Bookmarks from the menu bar at the very top of the page, I then clicked onto the Safari bookmark sidebar and most of the bookmark editing I had done reverted back to the way it was originally. I did this twice and the same thing happened (losing many hours of work) so I then carried out all Safari bookmark editing in the Safari sidebar and all changes then became permanent.

Am I doing something wrong or is there some issue with Bookmark editing in Safari for MacBook?

Usually starting up Safe Mode resolves these kinds of issues.

Startup in Safe Mode   https://support.apple.com/lv-lv/HT201262

To exit Safe Mode, click the Restart button at the bottom of the screen.
