I have IOS Mojave and have been trying to update to Catalina. I get a message saying iPhoto will no longer work with Catalina. Am I correct that when I upgraded to Mojave Photo was upgraded to replace iPhoto. If so how do i now use Photo to edit my photos?

You convert your iPhoto Library into a Photos Library. Launch Photos with the option key held down. From the resulting dialog, choose your iPhoto Library. Photos will create a new Photos library from your iPhoto media. Your iPhoto library will not be changed.
