Scanning problems

My printer is connected to my new MacBook Pro but I can't scan or find the control center. When I try on the printer itself, it says to check connection.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.15

Are you asking about Brother ControlCenter? If so, note that Brother has discontinued that application. Their current application is Brother iPrint&Scan. The following link can be used to see if your printer is compatible with that and to download it: https://help.brother-usa.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/150551/~/download-and-install-brother-iprint%26scan---windows-or-macintosh-computer

Another option for scanning is to use Apple's built-in app Image Capture.

If you need drivers or need to check compatibility, see: https://support.brother.com/g/s/id/os/macintosh.html
