Upgrade a imac Operating system

I have as far as Apple allows on my Imac and I think its High Sierra. They just had a bug update but told

me they would no longer support this system last year. I just did my taxes and Turbo Tax said next year I would need Mojave or higher?. Can you purchase this for my current Mac and upgrade the system. Its a great computer and works perfectly?? Thank you.

So you have a iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2009) which is limited to High Sierra, so unfortunately you cannot get the OS required for the tax software.

See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208969 for High Sierra. As you can see here https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT210190 Mojave requires an iMac 2012 or newer.

Thank you so much for the info. I was really hoping to keep this one. Its been a great computer for my accounting business.

Thank you for taking the time to help me. I have ripped apart PC's and put extra memory in my Imac but this is where I stop

I guess🤔. Apple offers trade in against a new one. Not sure if this is a good thing but would have to completely clear it

and not sure how on the Mac.

Can you go into   > About This Mac (upper left corner) and provide the exact model from this screen? Without the exact model we cannot provide more information.
