With Two Apple IDs In Two Countries How To Copy Info Across?
Okay so it’s a conundrum... I setup an Apple ID with a US address when I got my first iPhone. Since then I’ve setup an Australian Apple ID.
I need to upgrade my iCloud storage because backups are not working— I have lost all of my Voice Memos due to this problem.
Side Point: I did an iTunes backup thinking it was complete but because the Voice Memos dataset was set to iCloud backup apparently it ignores that and doesn’t include it in the backup?? So I had no backup on iCloud due to space and no backup in iTunes because it was set to iCloud... but that is another issue. I know I probably can’t recover those, so now I’m focused on preventing this issue from occurring again in the future!
So I need to add a payment method to my Australian ID. This however is not my main ID. Most App Store apps have been downloaded with the American ID and my Notes, Calendar, Reminders, Safari or whatever else links to iCloud (I could never find a definite list) are saved to this American ID also.
I only currently have a payment method for Australia (never downloaded paid apps on either ID yet) So I need this to be my main ID
Questions:
- If I log out of my American Apple ID’s iCloud account, can I keep everything on my phone to then subsequently sync with the Australian ID?
- Is there another way to accomplish this? (I know a simple ‘merge’ isn’t possible)
- Possibly, if I change the address of my American ID to Australia would this be a solution?
- I did notice that my Yahoo email account comes up as an option for Contacts, Calendar, Notes and Reminders, could I set that as default and use this to sync/copy the info then transfer it back to iCloud once I’m logged into the Australian ID?
I am SUPER cautious because I’ve already lost data. I really need some definite answers before I can take any sort of action.
😊 MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE 😊
