Preventing return to snapshot instead of project

When I finish working on my video project I always take a snapshot. When I return to the project, the app seems to take me to the snapshot rather than the project. I would like to be taken to the project and keep the snapshot just in case I screwed up and would like to go back to my starting position. How do I get the app to take me right to the project rather than the snapshot when I fire up Final Cut Pro again.

Hi sburech

Immediately after making a snapshot (shift-command-d) type (Command-2) this returns focus to Timeline which should not have changed to the Snapshot but should still reflect the original Timeline. (Check the Timeline name to make sure it does not say Snapshot in Timeline name)

Here a a couple of YouTuhttps://www.fcp.co/forum/7-fcpx-how-to-tutorials/31033-snapshots-project-versioning-in-fcpx

Best advice here is the use of Command 2 (or clicking on Timeline to focus)

Highly recommend that you create the Smart Collections as in Brett Williams video. Really helps to keep your browser clean and helps to prevent working on wrong version of Project. Good overall demonstration of Duplicate vs Snapshot and what each has to offer.

Hope this Helps, Greg
