Where are my photos?

Today I've updated my macbook air to OS catalina. After the computer turned on again, I've began to check if something was missinf or wrong. And so, all of my photos from Iphoto are gone. I wasn't logged on cloud before and they were all in app.

How (and if) can I get them back ?

Photos can open your old iPhotos library, but it probably is opening a new and empty library.

Try starting Photos with the Option key down, and select your iPhoto library.
