My rescue email replaced my apple Id in phone. how can I change it back ?

Reset Rescue email I know my Apple ID and Password but I can't make changes to my account. My rescue email address is no longer valid and I need to answer security questions to do that. Problem is I don't get those answers correct so to change them, Apple sends a rescue email to an account I can't access. I'm in a loop! Any way to fix these things?

I have forgotten my rescue email address the one shown is unknown to me how do i get the email sent to my original email Kindly advise me on how do i recover my password for the apple id my rescue email is different from what i currently use and its not known to me the device is an IPAD

That worked. I am unused to this sort of manoeuvre so it was scary to unhook myself and make an act of faith that I would not get lost. However I did land on my feet, Thanks
