I just upgraded to Catalina today and have noticed that spotlight has gotten considerably slower since. Spotlight under Mojave didn't suffer this issue. Fixing the delay should be a high priority. Search is paramount for modern file navigation.

If you just updated to Catalina, Spotlight is still indexing your drive(s). Give it some time to complete.

I appreciate the quick reply, however, "just" here means today, specifically 12 hours ago. More than enough time to index a 256GB SSD.
