Problem after installing security updates on High Sierra

Recently installed 2 latest security updates on High Sierra on 4/5/2020

Some, not all, web sites will not stay loaded. They instantly disappear.

Blank page displays with the statement: A problem repeatedly occurred with "https://www...... etc.

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.13

I suggest you first run First Aid:


Repair the Drive for El Capitan or Later


  1. Restart the computer. Immediately, at or before the chime, hold down the Command and R keys until the Apple logo and progress bar appear. Wait until the Utility Menu appears.
  2. Select Disk Utility and press the Continue button.
  3. Then select the indented (usually, Macintosh HD) volume entry from the side list. 
  4. Click on the First Aid button in the toolbar and wait for the Done button to activate. Click on it, then quit Disk Utility.
  5. Select Restart from the Apple menu.


Reinstall the two security updates. Be sure to do so in release order: earliest one is installed first. After installing the first update, please verify that everything is now working correctly before installing the second update.
