Each time I try to export a project on iMovie it always crashed on my early 2011 MacBook Pro. Each time I attempt to export it to file or iTunes or any of the others it always fails and crashes.

What version of iMovie are you running?
If you are running iMovie 10, take a look at this thread and see if anything in there helps you:

If you are running iMovie 9, that version is not entirely functional on operating systems after El Capitan. That might be the problem.

Try to start Console.app just before you export your project to file or iTunes.
Perhaps you will get more information about iMovie crashes.
Why does imovie crash when I try to export the project.
