MacMini Wifi

Hi, I bought a MacMini and everyday it has problems with connecting to the Wifi.

At least 2-3 times a day, it keeps disconnecting and stays disconnected for over an hour for no particular reason and when all other devices are working fine on the Wifi.

I searched online and see that it is a common problem with this device, any solutions would be appreciated. Thank you!

How far is the Mac Mini from the router?

Are you using any USB 3.0 drives?

The Wireless antenna is inside the case under the bottom cover and is easily influenced by distance, external USB 3.0 drives, poorly shielded USB 3.0 cables, poorly shielded display cables, plus other Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.

Some things that you can try are,

  1. Move your Mac Mini and Router closer together.
  2. Get and use a Wi-Fi extender between the Mac Mini and Router.
  3. Move your USB 3.0 and other devices to the opposite side of the Mac Mini.
  4. Stand the Mac Mini on it’s side with the bottom facing towards the direction of router.
