I recently changed my phone number, but iMessage and FaceTime still use the old number. How do I change it to the new number

I followed the directions in the post, but the same thing happens. It says verifying above the wrong phone number
Did you remove the wrong phone number?
I couldn’t remove the wrong phone number, iMessage may not have updated with the current phone number, although I followed the directions in the above posts.
