Does an external keyboard and mouse work? If so and both the keyboard and trackpad stopped working at the exact same time, then you most likely have a hardware failure. If you have the MBPro 2015 model, then it may just need to have the Trackpad Cable replaced. Sometimes a reboot, or an SMC reset, or a PRAM reset will temporarily fix the problem for some systems.
