Switch between earphones and speakers

On an imac with Catalina, can I plug in earphones and switch between the speakers and earphones using the sound preferences ? When I plug in the earphones, the "internal speaker" option disappeaars from the output Sound Preferences.

iMac 21.5", macOS 10.15

Sorry no, would require a real switch in the Headphone line.
