Use 24-inch early 2009 iMac with Mac Mini

Is it possible to use my old iMac (24-inch, early 2009) with Mac Mini? I would rather keep my old screen, keyboard, etc than buy a new one...

While it sounds like a fantastic idea, it is not for various reasons.

  1. You’ll need a second display to get it setup.
  2. You’ll need a second keyboard to get it setup.
  3. Sleep, startups and restarts will loose the connection.
  4. Sooner than later, the 2009 will decides to have a hardware issue.

My best advise, is to get a decent display, keyboard and mouse to use with the Mac Mini, then repurpose, sell or recycle the 2009 iMac.
